Yasmina 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Should I be adding a Protein Powder to my diet ? I drank that god awful Protein Water for a few days after surgery but that was it ?
Yasmina 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Lots of people have been talking about Unjury. What are the benefits of using a Protein powder?
Tres Chic 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Yasmina: Sorry to hear about your fill appointment with TLBC--not good. Do you remember the name of person who did your fill? The benefit of including Protein powder in your diet is that when you're very restricted, it's sometimes hard to get enough food down (I'm finding that now, after my 3rd fill) so I'm finding the protein is helpful so that I can get enough calories in and enough protein. I'm just using Slim Fast (Chocolate) with 2% milk at lunch so that I don't have any 'bizarre eating accidents' at lunch when I'm at the office. The Slim Fast that you mix yourself is not bad at all (the canned stuff is yucky).
Tres Chic 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Good, hopefully that helps! You'd think I'd know what I was doing, but yeah.... I forget my Vitamins ALOT. :phanvan Argon: Many thanks for the vitamins reminder. They seem to be doing the trick for the leg/foot cramping. I had stomach flu Monday and Tuesday... That was interesting as I immediately thought there was something wrong with my band. But when two other colleagues came down with it, I was able to relax and chill...literally!
Tres Chic 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Hi Tres Chic: No I wanted my first fill to be in TO but couldn't affort the tickent until now. Will be on Monday, will have the first fill April 24 at 1:30 pm. I do have some restriction with the mid band but suspect I need a bit more. How has your fills been. Doddie Doddie: How did the fill go? It was yesterday, no? becca77 0 Posted April 25, 2007 I agree about using Protein Drinks for lunch at work. Sometime this band can surprise me. Look my ticker is working again!
Tres Chic 0 Posted April 25, 2007 I agree about using Protein drinks for lunch at work. Sometime this band can surprise me. Look my ticker is working again! I heard you, Becca... It can surprise us at the most inopportune times:eek:
becca77 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Tres Chic how's it going after your little bit of unfill??
Tres Chic 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Becca... I cancelled the appointment because I realized I had stomach flu! (I think it was the fever that gave it away... and the 2 other colleagues that had the same thing). I guess I've now entered a world where I blame EVERYTHING on the band. I'm eating fine today, and things seem to be staying put.
Yasmina 0 Posted April 30, 2007 I just tried promax Protein Bars from Walmart. They are very good , 20 grams of Protein per bar and they come in great flavors, black forest cake, chocolate peanutbutter crunch, cookies and cream, chocolate coconut ! They are $ 2.65 a bar. What do you guys think about this product ?
Donna D 1 Posted April 30, 2007 How many carbs are in the bar. Remember they turn into sugar and kinda defeat the purpose. The flavours sure do sound yummy!
Gaffer 1 Posted April 30, 2007 I am not really a fan of protien bars. I generally find them to be expensive, high in carbs and have not really found one that tastes decent. I'll have a shake over a bar anyday. Andrew
Donna D 1 Posted April 30, 2007 GaffMan - You are in the 2's. Congratulations my man. You men piss me off at how fast you lose! Really, I'm proud of you. Keep it up.
Yasmina 0 Posted April 30, 2007 wow the carbs are 39 g , thanks for letting me know what to look for. That 's why they are so good. Bummer !
Tres Chic 0 Posted April 30, 2007 Andrew: Are you kidding me! Congratulations on your weight loss. I can't believe you've been at this such a short time with such outstanding restults. Yasmina: Unless you aren't able to get enough Protein through your diet, I would pass on the protein bars. Sometimes, when I'm low on protein, I have a 1/2 serving of slim fast....lots of protein and some Calcium and not too many carbs. Donna: How are you doing? Did you just get banded last week?
