Tres Chic 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Well, my phone consult went well. I can't seen to remember her name, but she is from lebonnon . We talked about my trip to Egypt and seemed interested in my belly dancing. She was also banded. Good thing to know she promotes her product. She said that at first until you know how to use it , it becomes your main focus, then it is easy to live with. You don't really think about it.Oh Ya my date is Feb 2nd Yasmina:) :huggie: :rose: :) :) :) :) Her name is Nisrine. She's lovely. I'm on Feb 1st Yasmina so I'll be thinking of you... when I'm not thinking of you making Perogies (it was YOU who said they made perogies, wasn't it?) Yasmina 0 Posted January 24, 2007 It was, I made 122 dozen perogies this christmas ! I will be thinking of you too, Someone who will be experiencing my excitement at the same time. Have you visited the clinic ? What's it like ? My first time will be my surgery date. It will be nice to swap stories since our recovery time will be so close
susieq321 31 Posted January 24, 2007 Actually I need to change my ticker tape ( I am lazy)... I am pretty much at goal.. I am generally a size 8-10 on the bottom and 6-8 on the top. Thank you for the compliments. It is very doable for anyone, just keep on your track and do what you need to do to get there. I think sites like this are awesome for helping people out with information and support. There are people here who know where you are and where you are going. Sometimes it is harder to relate this to your friends and family if they aren't banded sometimes.
Yasmina 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Heather, That is sooo wonderful! I could not even imagine, but I would like too , LOL, a size 6 Holy man ! Do you still get fills?:clap2:
Yoda 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Yeah Heather....... So once you are at goal, do you plan on getting a small de-fill and then just attempting to "maintain"? Do you have a plan for that?
Yasmina 0 Posted January 24, 2007 It is really nice to hear from someone who has had it for a few years; what the long term reality is. I know for the most part bread and Pasta may not be part of my future, oh god , I hope somewhere down the road I would be able to handle pizza ! LOL Well I got throught day one, 9 more days to go. Yesterday , the cook at work made me hot chocolate as I was going out to get the children off the bus. I had to pretend to drink it, and dump it out later . I keep thinking it's a test . Don't drink the hot chocolate ! LOL My friend's husband's birthday is Saturday and everyone is going out to dinner at this great Italian restaurant, I guess I will come down with the flu BO BO for me. We could not have done this last week ! I have decided only to share my band surgery with two close friends that I dance with and Carmen. well on to day two ! Have you visited the clinic ? What's it like ? My first time will be my surgery date. I'm only doing 1 week Pre-op so it should be manageable (I start tomorrow). After being reminded about carb-headaches, I began doing Protein this past week. I'm getting excited/nervous, but I've been finding peace reading Yoda and Chloe's posts. We'll trade 'post-op' stories. Best wishes!
susieq321 31 Posted January 25, 2007 Thank you for the compliments. I have the swedish band with a fairly loose fill and I honestly believe after 5 years the best thing in the world about the band is not how it helps you lose weight... but how it helps you maintain the weight loss with such ease... it really helps you. I can say I was at a christmas gathering with a bunch of WLS patients and every WLS you can imagine was there the RNY, the VBG, the DS, stomach stapling these were all long timers 4+ years out for all of us. There were two bandsters and we were the only two who ever reached goal and maintained our weight at goal. The rest of the surgeries had regained and in some cases substantial amounts of weight. I go for fills on occasion I have been to see Dr Yau for one fill last year... and I think three de-fills. (My band likes to self tighten if I am stressed) I am at about 5 cc's roughly maybe a little less maybe a little more. Be prepared to have a relationship with your surgeon and their staff for a long time that is unlike any other doctor patient relationship. I can't speak for Dr Coburn I can speak for Joffe and Yau.. they are amazing kind surgeons with great staff, who in the first two years tend to see you as often as you need a fill. I have heard similar things about Dr Coburn also. But in truth once you learn to work with the band and make a consistent effort with eating and exercising losing the weight follows. Then once you reach goal maintaining is simple, I tend not to think about my weight or what I eat other than to think am I getting in enough Protein, liquids etc.

Yasmina 0 Posted January 25, 2007 As I read about everyone, I makes me wonder how things will turn out foe me. I have tried soooo mand diets and they have all worked but some how I would fall into the same rut and boom all the weight and more is back. I see how successful everyone is and I wonder can this happen to me too ? Mandi really blows me away because I have been on this site since August and watched as she hit 100lbs lost Holy Cow, that is soooo cool ! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
Astrotoes 0 Posted January 25, 2007 Yasmina I'm with you all the way,It's hard to imagine this working for me,I know where food is concerned I've failed too many times to count(I really should have shares in Weight Watchers) but I really want to believe.I really appreciate Yoda,Argon,Cloe and the others for being so "Real",it's so much better to interact with them then some advertisement web page.It is so hard not to feel scammed.I really wish I could have got to Toronto and met Dr.Cobourn in person instead of just the day of the surgery b/c I know at that point it's a done deal.I just keep telling myself...believe,believe,believe:paranoid
