Kennedy 100 Posted August 19, 2013 Wondering if there is an average number of calories each of uky shoot for and why?
TES 858 Posted August 19, 2013 I do the Mosley 5:2 fast (intermittent fasting to keep your metabolism going). On the two "fast" days each week, I eat apx 500 calories. On other days, I try to stick to 1,000 or fewer. This is where I feel best and seem to lose weight the best. Others do better with calories slightly higher. I am hypothyroid secondary to pituitary issues so that may be why my calories need to be lower--my body is very metabolically efficient. 1 TwinsMama reacted to this
TwinsMama 483 Posted August 19, 2013 Every plan is different... I'm almost 10 weeks post-op. I shoot for 800-1000 cals a day. I NEVER get past about 850 for some reason...oh yeah my little tummy. But I'm working on getting more cals a day since I'm beefing up my workouts. 1 TES reacted to this
Pinky Green 260 Posted August 19, 2013 I never really count calories. My doctor only told me to count Protein, get at least 60-80 gram per day, and to avoid sugar and try to keep fat at 5 grams per serving. So that's all I do. I asked him once about how many calories a day I should be getting and he said about 1000-1200.
Kennedy 100 Posted August 20, 2013 Do you guys count the cals in your Protein Drinks too? If so, doesn't really leave much for food.< /p>
AmyInOrlando 348 Posted August 20, 2013 My Doc recommends 600-800 calories / day. I try to stay at 600 because I'm only 5 feet tall, and I'm almost 61 years old. I'm almost 3 weeks out. Once I start exercising, I may increase my caloric intake depending on my weight loss and energy level. I'm getting 70 grams of Protein everyday. Once I start on soft foods, i'll start monitoring my carbs and fat grams as well, but right now I focus on protein, calories and fluids. I drink at least 64 oz of fluids / day.
