The chewables are making me sick. Anyone take gummies?

My doctor said gummies are fine. I take the OneADay Women's Vitacraves.

Should just check with yours, since they all seem so different in opinions. I have been able to take them since two days after surgery with no problems.

My doc said no gummies, cause they can't be sure of how much you're absorbing from them

Ditto. The length it takes to absorb a Gummy as opposed to other types is much longer and our tummies simply don't get it all absorbed.

I take flinstone complete. Still not the most tasty but it is better than any of the many bariatric ones I've tried.

I take gummies and have had two PERFECT blood tests in the three months since surgery. I also started taking a Gummy probiotic and have not had "bathroom" or intestinal issues since I started taking them. At my followup last week, I complained about taking the Calcium and they even recommended the gummy calcium - even if it isn't citrate - she said it should be fine.

I have my first follow up Appt on Thursday even though today is my two week mark. I'm going to talk to them about it then, I know how important taking Vitamins is on your body I'm a big advocate for them but I simply cannot take these chewables anymore. I even tried crushing them and mixing them in my drinks. No luck.

Are the one a days good?

Some of the gummie Vitamins are high in calories and carbs when you add up how many you have to take. My Nut and Surgeon does not allow them but I know some do. ;)

Just be sure if you switch to gummies that you get your Iron in somehow. Sorry the chewables didn't work for you.

I take the chewable Iron without any problems, it's the oddest thing.

We have taken Vitafusion multi cites for years, available at costo and on Amazon. I will have my first post-op blood test tomorrow, but historically they have worked and our Vitamin levels have always been good. It helps that they are absolutely delicious :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
