ladybug112000 114 Posted August 19, 2013 I didn't bruise at all. My incisions are glued. No stitches or staples. 1 Kimmy1813 reacted to this
BellaItaliana 57 Posted August 19, 2013 Is that a little pus around the staples? If so, it probably shouldn't be there, but I'm obviously not a doctor. 1 Iniysa reacted to this
Iniysa 157 Posted August 19, 2013 I had glue too. There was a little bruising but really, but nothing like that. Some people are more sensitive. Especially if there are stitches involved. Make sure your incisions are not hot to the touch and that no pus comes out. That could indicate an infection. I kept my moist with plain medical lotion. Iniysa 157 Posted August 19, 2013 Is that a little pus around the staples? If so, it probably shouldn't be there, but I'm obviously not a doctor. It finally let me see the picture in a larger format. That does look like pus to me too. Or iodine.
ashelaine 383 Posted August 19, 2013 I'm not a dr and I've never played one on TV- but other than bruising (I didn't have any)- it looks very similar to how my incisions looked about the same time post surgery 1 kltklass reacted to this
Skinny in Here 83 Posted August 19, 2013 Is this a normal looking incision site? I just had surgery thursday OUCH! That looks painful. I had staples and glue. My incisions were a little red, but not nearly as angry looking as those. I'd say let your doc take a look. Better to be safe than to deal with what could have been a preventable issue down the road. Good Luck!!
Lori228 60 Posted August 19, 2013 I colored up real nice, had a great big bruise before it was all over. Bruising looked much worse than it felt. I was fine and it eventually went away.
Triple H 13 Posted August 19, 2013 Personally I think they look ok....mine bruised up like that too. I did not have staples however, so I might be a bit concerned about the buildup around the staples, but that may be normal. I think you are probably fine but like others said if they are hot to the touch or leaking pus, get to the doc! I've worked in healthcare for over 10 years, but not a DR or RN
erica5754 52 Posted August 19, 2013 My incisions were sealed with dermabond and I didn't have any bruising. Some people just bruise easier than others. I'm a nurse and as long as you're not having any fever, swelling around the incision sites or excruciating pain, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
