Taser! For the public!

You might also think about getting an Umbrella Insurance Policy to help you pay for the legal bills you might have to settle if you "Taser" the wrong person.:)

In the UK they are sooooo illegal. my firends son has just been fined a huge amount just for having one.. I dont see the harm in them as they are a defensive deterrent rather than a weapon. A dinner fork in the wrong hand could kill etc.. I know the USA have very different laws compared to us though so im not sure of the legalities .. but i can imagine the litigation issues would be huge in the states.

I think it should be just like owning a gun. That is, only after the the owner has been trained and licensed. They can easily kill someone.

A lady in my neighborhood is going back & forth with a guy that she accidentally tasered in the nards.

She claims he was running up behind her on a jogging path at night and it scared her. He claims he was jogging, and was going to pass her. She got all worked up at just the prospect of something happening, turned around, and fried Jim & the twins. The guy is now claiming ED. Who knows.

I can not speak for all states, since each state makes its own laws. But in NY, most anything can be considered a weapon and a person can be charged with (and convicted of) "possession of a deadly weapon" for almost anything. Here's the trick. If you stab me with a fork or pen, or hit me with a baseball bat or golf club, besides being charged with assault, you can also be charged with "assault with a deadly weapon" and "possession of a deadly weapon", because you used the fork, pen, bat or club as a weapon.

So while anything can be used as a weapon and you can be charged with "possession of a deadly weapon" for almost anything, there are some things that are considered weapons whether you use them as a weapon or not and they included firearms, knives (over 4 inches in length), certain chemical sprays and certain electrical immobilizers.

So a person can only be charged with "possession of a deadly weapon" if he uses the item as weapon or if he is in possession of any of a small group of devices which are always considered weapons.

Then again, there are some states where anyone (over 18 except a convicted felon) can carry a weapon and some places where it is the law that you must carry a gun.:faint:

I'm sorry Wheetsin that is too funny! But...I thought it would be Johnson and the twins! LOL

This is a tough one, but I don't think the general public has the knowledge of what a taser gun is capable of doing well enough to own them, even though lots of people do. I know they have killed people, so I don't think I would want to take the chance of using one on someone else. I think maybe pepper spray would be safer. I definitely wouldn't carry a gun with me!

I don't know where you are from, but here it Florida, you only need 3 things:

$$$$$ :)

a State ID and

a clean (no felony, no mental hospitalization) record. :faint:

I wish they would make a version that could be used on children that would render them silent and immobile for a few hours. It would be great to use in restaurants, movie theaters, and the like. What a great life that would be!

Men are just so touchy when it comes to their penises.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
