NMJG 1,266 Posted August 17, 2013 Ick. I am majorly annoyed and need to vent. My doctor's office requires the liquid diet (for two weeks post op) to include 3 to 4 Protein Shakes a day made from 3 scoops unflavored Beneprotein and half a packet of sugar free carnation instant Breakfast. I'm at the end of day five and having trouble getting down one more disgusting drink. I spent a month trying all the Protein out there and loaded up on the ones I liked. I was thinking, no prob, I can do this! Now I have to drink this nauseating concoction instead of the Protein Drinks I like. The nurse said I couldn't switch because if something came up, they need to know exactly what I've been having. Poor me! Play the violin...... 1 cindy74 reacted to this
srs82781 83 Posted August 17, 2013 Oh boo! That stinks! I could barely stomach Protein post op and to have to drink one that I hate would be torture! I say they want to know what is in your system if something comes up, then bring them the container of whatever you are using. It is so crazy how every single doctors diets are different. I'm sure if you couldn't stomach the carnation mixture another minute m, then they wouldn't object to you drinking something else. Better to get protein from a different source then not getting enough cause you can't stomach the on they require. Good luck!
4MEL21 77 Posted August 20, 2013 Did you have your surgery in El Paso? I had the same requirements and couldn't stomach it. Nutritionist said I could switch to Unjury. Sorry they won't let you 1 NMJG reacted to this
Aliceinwonder 11 Posted August 24, 2013 My husband and I could do any Protein we wanted. I thought Unjury was horrible. I used Vitamin World Premier and it has no protein taste. Can be made with Water too

Sorry they won't let you Yes, El Paso. I've tried switching to other Proteins, since I figure it was better to have one they didn't like than be short on Protein.< /p>
