megandearcos 0 Posted August 17, 2013 So today I got my approval for surgery! Surgery date is Sept 16th.. I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time. I've never had surgery before and I've never been under anesthesia. (Which is what I'm more worried about) how did everyone deal with there nerves?
BigDaddyJoe 246 Posted August 17, 2013 Congrats! I wasn't nervous at all, actually thought there was something wrong with me because I wasn't nervous. I knew I was making the right decision, and am so glad that I did it. Good luck to you, you'll get past the nerves and be on the loser's bench soon!

lolly2qt 1 Posted August 18, 2013 Congratulations on the surgery date! And anesthesia is not bad at all. I had to go under for my gall bladder. They told me to count backward from ten and I don't remember getting past 6.

crowsnestmama 240 Posted August 19, 2013 I didn't get nervous until that morning. When I was in the pre-op room, the nurse came in to tell me they were taking me. As she was talking she giggled and said that the anesthesiologist (who i had already met and didn't see follow her in) just gave me a dose to put me under. Turns out he saw how nervous I was and did an awesome thing because I don't have to let my mind do the "what if" thing all the way to the OR...I don't remember leaving my sister on the room, lol! I am positive you will do amazing. Just follow the directions to the hilt...trust the Dr. and the plan!
