Arts137 1,811 Posted August 16, 2013 Drain after surgery, ... to drain blood, goo & stuff. Good early indicator of problems. Usually 'pulled' before you go home from hospital. Sometimes left in till the surgical follow-up visit. Sometimes not used at all! 2 Olivia2233 and TwinsMama reacted to this
Mammecan 43 Posted August 16, 2013 Don't know...I was told it would be removed before I come out of surgery & that I would only be in the hospital over night for the sleeve... 1 Olivia2233 reacted to this
Olivia2233 10 Posted August 16, 2013 Yes I am staying overnight to so they can make sure I am getting enough fluids. Sheesh I hope I dont need one, my Dr. has said nothing of this! Thanks I was curious!
gamergirl 4,610 Posted August 16, 2013 This seems to vary by surgeon. I know mine doesn't use them after surgery. 2 TwinsMama and Olivia2233 reacted to this
Will 61 Posted August 16, 2013 I had a drain. It just is in your body and drains out fluids and stuff. The removal is really weird but it's doable without pain. 1 Olivia2233 reacted to this
Lilly43 20 Posted August 16, 2013 They removed my friend drainage tube the following day after her surgery just before she went home .
