nikkoal 21 Posted August 16, 2013 Okay so I am 3days post op. I woke up from what felt like a 6 hr nap which was only 2hrs. Anyways I woke up with a bad headache. I am not on moriphine. I do have compression stockings on to prevent blood clots. My bp yesterday was elevated at 144/78. Today it was 110/70. Pulse has been slower than norm for me. It ranges from 45-55. Used to be 90-110. Anyone experience what I am going thru
JerseyGirl68 1,172 Posted August 16, 2013 HOw is your Fluid intake? Early signs of dehydration include headache and fatigue. Feel better!!
Richard Foor 655 Posted August 16, 2013 Yes the most common cause of headaches and fatigue in the early phases is not enough hydration and/or Protein. You should be trying to get at least 64 oz of Water a day. If you are having trouble drinking the water first off try flavoring it with something like MIO, second you can try warm or hot liquids to reduce the swelling inside in order to help get the liquid to go down better. Good Luck.

Patti K 98 Posted August 17, 2013 I had the exact same issue! Mune was the pain med which I hardly used but every time I did it caused a headache. Also noticed it happened when I napped without y cpap. If u aren't using one maybe u are not getting enough oxygen due to the low BO and pulse. Ask to be put on oxygen and see if that helps. I had my surgery in may and had a headache for a week and a half . I think it was a combo of post anesthesia and getting used to low calorie in take. Flower girl 3 Posted August 18, 2013 I had surgery on Thursday and have had the worst headaches. I can't knock them. I think it's just a result of no caffeine and no food. Hoping to end this lethargy and headaches when I get to phase 2 on Monday.
jen14 0 Posted August 18, 2013 I had surgery last week and had the same thing it was awful ... Ask for some Toradol IV it's basically like ibuprofen but IV ! Also if your getting IV pain meds like diluadid stop that was making mine so much worse maybe see if u can try a few sips of coffee too no Creamer !
