Sugar free hard candies ok?

I know we're not supposed to do gum due to possibly putting air in our new tummies, but what about sugar free hard candy. Is it okay?

It was on my not allowed list for the 1st 2 weeks after surgery due to the reflex of swallowing it. I still haven't had any.

yes, I think the reason they tell you no gum or hard candies is if you accidently swallow it, it could be very painful.

Gosh, I was sucking on sugar-free life savers in the hospital because they wouldn't give me anything to drink until I passed the "leak test." Oops!
