Chelenka 827 Posted August 14, 2013 Start taking a stool softener every night. Put chia seeds in your yogurt or Protein shake. Many people recommend Milk of Magnesia. Add a non-flavored Fiber powder like Bene Fiber to you Protein shakes. Drink a pot of coffee (LOL just kidding) but seriously, if you're allowed to have coffee it helps get things moving. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2; 5 month post-op 262.

cindymg 629 Posted August 15, 2013 I started with adding fiber to food. Then I added stool softener. Finally I broke down and added 1/2 a dose of Miralax every day. Everything is working well now. It feels so much better to not be all backed up.
Itsme! 98 Posted August 15, 2013 How far out are you? Once I started eating fruits and veggies things got miraculously better. (who am I kidding?! I started fruits. I don't like veggies!). Prior to that I used fiber chews. They helped too but the nurse said they can cause rebound Constipation when you stop them.
