my pants size is down a tad. I really was hoping for a little more but I guess I need to give it more time.

Anyone else looking at the same results or better ??

When does the weight relly start falling off.

This is so dependent on you, and your level of activity and commitment to the change. I have lost 25 lbs since the start of this process (starting the program) and lost almost 8 pounds right after the surgery (not eating and clears will do that to you) Men lose weight quicker then women so hang in there it will come off.

I actually gained weight after surgery! I was 244 the day I walked into outpatient...the next day I weighted myself that evening at home and I had gained 14 pounds!! They totally overdid it on the IV I think. I was also severely constipated. I am now on day 13 and lost that 14 pounds as well as an addition 6 so I am satisfied. I was hoping for more too but I know its still a long road to recovery...not just for weight lose but for making the big mental change...behavioral and mental. I have to learn to like myself again..its been so long that it seems like an impossibility but I refuse to give up on me. Don't stop believin...and yes, I am a Journey fan too!!

When talking to my 14yo about my upcoming surgery he said "so will you come home from the hospital skinny?" One could only hope hehe. At last we all must travel the road of less fat and more exercise to achieve our dreams. It's coming.... As quickly or slowly as our road travels.

I was sleeved on 8/5 and have since lost 24 lbs. (Including pre-op diet). My bp has decreased too and I feel better. I'm noticing it in my face and the way my clothes fit and my hubby says my butt looks better lol. I'm trying to walk everday for 20 minutes or at least 10. Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone- It's a bit early, but I was Sleeved on 8/7, and I'm 16.6lbs weight lost since surgery. I'm pretty much pain free and I haven't taken pain meds since 3rd day post-op. Walking 40 min a day and steam room twice a day.

I was sleeved on July 19th and so far my scale can't decide whether I've lost 12 or 15 pounds. Keeps going back and forth. At first I was mad that I haven't had the crazy loss like some people. (30 pounds 2 weeks) but I've come to terms with it. It will start moving again once my body is ready. I eat my Protein and get almost the amount of Water I'm supposed to. I've just decided to not worry about what other people are losing and focus in me. My clothes and shoes are getting bigger so I KNOW I'm doing something right.

I got sleeved 7/31 and have lost 11 pounds so far, I can tell I lost inches and my face is starting to show, I don't like to compare my self to faster losers because the it makes u feel like your sleeve doesn't work and everyone's works differently. I also started at 204 so it's slower when you weight less

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
