Stalking the forums

Recommended Posts

I've been browsing these forums for about a month trying to get my finger on what actually goes on with the sleeve. With the information that I have learned from you guys, I have decided that when it finally happens, the sleeve is the way I want to go. I have had my initial consultation, and done the psych eval and just completed the upper GI requested by the surgeon last week. Now I am patiently waiting for the next step... hopefully I will hear something from them soon.

So glad this site has helped you; it has helped me a bunch too! Don't be a stranger to the forums though--feel free to ask questions and to share your experiences. After all, without all of these awesome people sharing their stories, none of us would know what to expect! :)

Good luck starting the process!

Wow. I remember my post like yours almost three years ago. More than two years out from surgery and 17 months at goal weight of 21.8 BMI, I am happy with my choice.

Best wishes on your journey!

Lynda

My job is working in a very large oil camp and it is very physical but I just can't seem to loose the weight and am always hungry. That is why I have decided to have this surgery oct 21/13

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
