Flavorless protein powder

Recommended Posts

So I just wanted to let anyone know that may need that extra Protein throughout the day....

I have been trying to think of great ways to get the most of Protein and many ways.... Drops in the Water, Protein Bars etc.... And I thought I wonder if they had a flavorless kind.... So I walked into GNC and bam they have 100% whey protein flavorless!!! I only got a small package due to being unsure if it would actually be flavorless... So tonight I tried it and not one flavor!!! I put one scoop in a half cup of Soup and bing bang boom best Soup, with added protein I needed.

I googled a lot and see you can add to yogurt, soup, potatoes, chili etc....

This is good to know when flavored Protein loses its appeal. Thanks for the heads up on flavorless protein.

As far as adding unflavored Protein to soup...what is the best way to do it to avoid lumps? Do you add it before you heat the Soup or after?

i do it after its warm, in small amounts... i make a bowl of Soup last night and just did one scoop and i added it all at once... it was chunky... but i was not really able to tell because it had chucks of other stuff in there so it was like i was just eating the soup....

Hi EllieJ, last week my bariatric group was discussing the urge to chew when on a liquid diet. Someone mentioned their chunky-soup method as a way of getting something to chew while on a liquid diet. It sounded like an excellent idea and also got laughs. Have a fantastic weekend.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
