Well if it is healed I would say soap and Water. That is all I ever used. :)

If it hasn't healed yet and it smells you should have it checked by your doctor. It could be a bacterial, yeast or fungal infection. All of these have distinctive smells.

If your incision has healed I would guess that it's a yeast infection. I have had those before and have treated with soap and Water and drying really well (a hair dryer works) then using an OTC yeast treatment. It usually will clear it up in one or two applications.

That soon after surgery it's definitely something you should call your doctor about.

yes, I'd say an odor is something the doctor would want to know about. It is a sign of infection. Don't panic, but don't hesitate to call the doc.

I had the belly button single incision, and the first couple of days I left it alone -- it just got incidental rinsing in the shower, though I was careful not to let the spray go directly on it. The next couple of weeks I would create a bunch of soap suds in my hand and kind of pat them over my belly button, then splash a LOT of Water on it to wash the suds away. Never never never scrubbed it, and waited several weeks before running the Water directly on it.

Have the professional look at it though, and give you advice on how you should best clean it.

I am 8 months out and mine was stinky for a while. I put peroxide in it and it got better although I'm very sure to wash it with soap and Water in the shower. Belly buttons are kind of stinky sometimes anyway. Kinda gross but true.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
