bigbeauty78 27 Posted August 13, 2013 Any do's or don'ts to acknowledge during your physical therapy evaluation. I've hit one bump in the road due to my psychological evaluation. She suggested I have counseling due to anxiety. So I do not have a clearance for surgery at this time. Don't need anymore set backs! Any advice is appreciated. LisaDM 194 Posted August 13, 2013 This evaluation is for the surgery? I don't have a requirement like that, but I am a physical therapist assistant. I have never heard of any PT eval that wasn't just the start of a treatment. No pass or fail with that, just a jumping point to get a baseline and goals to work toward. bigbeauty78 27 Posted August 13, 2013 Yes Lisa it's something I've got to complete on my check list for sleeve surgery. A physical therapy evaluation.
LifetimeLoser 208 Posted August 13, 2013 i've never heard of that. Although, just like a psych eval I would just be honest. It may be a set back now, but will help you be successful post op. As far as a physical evaluation, I don't think there is much you can hide...not like you can hide your thoughts. :0) 1 bigbeauty78 reacted to this
mokee 588 Posted August 13, 2013 Never had that either.
LisaDM 194 Posted August 14, 2013 LifetimeLoser is right. You really can't hide anything in a physical evaluation. I the only reason I could see the need for a PT eval is to get an exercise program to prepare for surgery and the post op exercises. I doubt there is anything that would hinder your pre-op process. Anything they find should be helpful to you. 1 bigbeauty78 reacted to this
glostaff 40 Posted August 14, 2013 Didn't have that either. Just be honest and keep an open mind.
