I was sleeved 12/17/12 and have lost 85 pounds which I'm very excited about and very proud of myself. My issue is I can tolerate eating anything- 90 percent of the time I stay on plan and make good choices but at times I eat things I shouldn't and so scared to gain weight. How are others whose new stomachs can tolerate anything handling themselves when self control is low.

I think you just have to keep making good choices over and over. Stick to the basics,log what you eat. Never get complacent.

Just because you can eat anything you have tried doesnt mean you should. Dont bring bad habbits back into your life. you might say ill just try a little or one bite. well that turns into trying more a few weeks later. So on and so on. next you are back where you started.

Give yourself a weight your happy at and weigh regularly, establish a eat/exercise routine you are happy with. If your weight goes above your top weight the IMMEDIATELY go back to basics of high protein/ low carb until you are below your top weight.

My stats are similar to yours. I was sleeved 2/25/13 and am down 83 pounds. I am able to eat many things, so thankful those first few weeks are behind me. I am trying to remember to eat slow, and not keep the trigger foods around the house. That said, I do indulge in popcorn and an occasional small dish of ice cream. I think it's okay to have one or two of your past 'loves', but not all of them, and certainly not many of them together or even in the same week or two. I have not had Cheez-its in months and manage to function each day, haha.

I keep a daily log (loose it) which keeps me on track. I set the calories low so I know at the end of the day what I may have to play with. I also walk 5 days a week, and try to swim two days. I think we should keep a log, even if we think we are good enough to go it alone. It keeps us accountable.

So.... it's good choices, accountability, low carb/high Protein, and exercise.

You have done a great job, don't tempt fate to turn that around.

I had surgery Nov 28, 2012. I have lost 82 lbs also. I would have lost more if for the past 3 months I didn't let the old habits back in. I am trying so very hard to get back on track. I still have very good restriction and I will get to goal. That being said it is 1 day at a time. But if I did not have the sleeve I would have gained back everything I have lost by now. I am lucky to have the sleeve and I am trying.

I was also sleeved in December 2012. Im down 90 pounds and can tolerate everything Ive tried. Although I have not tried everything that I used to eat because I know its not good for me but Im pretty sure if I did, it would go well. I dont really eat foods that are on my no-no list but if I did, Im sure Id wish that I couldnt tolerate them.

Even when Im having a hormonal episode, I still try to be good. I have sugar free chocolate Syrup in my skim milk or a double chocolate vitamuffin or a couple chocolate covered strawberries. Im still slowly losing. Ill go for a month and not lose a pound (but not gain) and then the next month Ill lose 4 or 5. I guess my body still hasnt found its sweet spot yet. I strayed sorry...to your point, I think it takes more will power knowing you CAN physically eat everything.

I had this surgery to live a normal life. I'm about 4 months out now and can eat basically anything. I've had fast food, I've had chips and candy, I've had alcohol. Nothing has caused me much problems.

Obviously it's all in moderation. I eat well, make good choices, and make sure my Protein levels are where they should be. I work out a lot. If, at the end of the day, I have a couple hundred calories left, I'll allow myself a treat.

I'm down about 45lbs now and have another 30ish to go. I still lose 1-2lbs a week steadily and I'm happy with that! I'm happy that I can eat what I want, but less of it. That's exactly what I hoped for from surgery.

I am 1 year and 2 mths post-op. I am down 125lbs. I'm getting really scared for two reasons. The first is I can eat whatever I want. Nothing bothers me. Not even ice cream. The second is I can eat more and one cup of found doesn't satisfy me. I DO NOT want to gain any weight back. The scale has also not moved in months. When I went to my 1 year check up my surgeon gave me the bittersweet new of. "I lost exactly the amount of weight he projected me to loose from the surgery. Awesome! The Debbie downer is if I want to lose more weight it is going to take my own committment, determination and hardwork. That scares the heck out of me!!!! My tool, my resource, my sleeve has done it's job. YOWSERS!!!!!!

I keep telling myself I GOT THIS!! Do I???? Ugh!!!!!

This my method and it works for me. Also, I stick with eating on plan 90% of the time. Other 10% anything goes.

Where do you get those double chocolate vitamuffins? Those sound yummy

Not sure if you have a Safeway by you, but if you do, they carry vita muffins.

I was sleeved a few days before you and I can eat anything too. But nothing in the amt as pre-sleeved. I kind of slipped over the weekend while on a girls weekend, but I'm trying to rail myself back on track.

I refuse to fail.

Need to get our minds back in the game :D

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
