Hello all! I am 13 weeks and have been hungry since about week two. Nothing that i cannot deal with and not as much as before surgery. All of a sudden....i am not as hungry as i have been. Not complaining and hoping it stays like this. Has this happened to anyone and how long did it last?

You will gradually have days when you are hungry all the time and others that you do not eat much....10 months out and this is where I am at now.....I eat according to how I feel and since I can't eat more then a cup....The days I don't feel hungry I eat a lot of Protein and yogurt. Things like that...When I am having hungry days I eat nuts and seeds 1/4 cup for snacks..It helps a lot!

As you eat more Protein and dense foods your hunger will abide a bit. It has happened to me but I HAVE to keep to my schedule or the hunger comes right back.

Good for you!

I'm about 7 weeks out and I experience the same thing. Some days it's a push to eat anything. Other days I have to be really careful about my choices because I feel so hungry. The good thing about the sleeve it that it literally halts my bad decisions. I went out with some friends and decided to "taste" a few things that I hadn't had in a while....two forkfuls of fried rice...I was done for the night! All I could at that point was enjoy some good conversation and wait out the 45 minutes until I could drink something!!!! The next day, I wasn't hungry at all! Go figure!!

I am 9 months out and I'm not sure if I have even experienced hunger since the surgery. I get cravings but I can honestly say I can't even remember one feeling of hunger.

I know you've probably heard this a million times, but everyone is different. I do think it is quite normal. You could be getting used to things. Your body could have adapted to the decrease in calories. Your tummy could have healed where it is smaller now. Your mind could have just accepted the drastic change your body went through and is now comfortable knowing that you can eat less. You also could have lost weight which means you need less calories to move throughout the day, therefore a smaller caloric deficit than in the beginning. Oh the possibilities, but it does seem perfectly normal.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
