My hair is really falling out now. Thank God I have a lot of hair. Has anyone tried something that works for them to keep it from falling out so much. I'm still having 2 Protein Shakes a day just because I like them and all my Vitamins.< /p>

I've tried it all. . .biotin, collagen, prenatal, fish oil, special shampoos, not washing, not styling . . .hair loss is inevitable, according to my dr, no matter what you do. Good news...it does stop eventually....I just hope it is soon! Good luck to all of us experiencing it!

I had my sleeve may 20th and in the past three weeks my hair has really been falling out. I have a lot of hair so I'm hoping it won't be to bad, and everything I'm reading says it should only last up to 3 months. I'm hoping for sooner! Good luck

I could make a wig from the hair that falls out every time I get out if the shower!! I am hoping that it slows down soon. I too had thick hair so it is not too noticeable, but it scares me to see all that come out of my head .... That and my hair is everywhere lol

I was having the same issue. I was sleeved in April and by July I too was leaving a trail of hair. When I showered it would come out in my hands and every time I brushed I got a brush-full of hair. I was to the point of panicking I might go bald I just did all the dr said( Biotin twice a day upped my Protein ) and tried to keep it braided brushing the least amt possible and washing it less. He said I'd see a difference in about three months and I have. It still is coming out a bit but not in the bulk that it was. I think me stressing about it was making it even worse so I avoided thinking about it(hence the braid, lol). Don't worry. It does get better. ;-)

I agree with the previos posters, there is noyhing you can do. It inevitably hapens to 99.9% of us sleevers (I've read a couple posts reporting no hair loss). Just follow your doctors nutritional and supplemental orders.

Mine is thinning but I keep it braided a lot. I am almost 6 months out. :-) But from what I have read it will grow back.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
