shutuplena 0 Posted January 12, 2007 You'll be able to deal with the hunger after surgery because you won't want to each much for the first week. Does your dr. require you to be on a preop diet? Mine didn't but many people here have and they can help you. Don't be scared, you'll be fine. Keep us posted.
ReneBean 3 Posted January 12, 2007 Yeah - It's the Pre-Op diet that is the most difficult and then it gets hard again about a week after surgery - unless you are lucky enough to have restriction right off the table. Once you start eating normal food, and getting fills - it all gets a lot easier. Don't be afraid. It's going to be just fine. We all survived - and believe me when I tell you - I am NO paragon of self control. If I did it, you can too. Hugs!!
gigi8 0 Posted January 12, 2007 Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I too am scared about what happens after the surgery, but I have gotten alot of support and information from this forum. I am scheduled for the 30th of this month. Best of luck to you! Gigi
Ariel 1 Posted January 12, 2007 The hard part was the pre op diet. Post op i have been fine. It has been alittle over two weeks and I am still not really hungry. If you can get through the pre op then you can make it post op. (based on my limited experience being post op)
juliegeraci 7 Posted January 12, 2007 Congrats. I think you will find that your hunger will be diminished. It is typical in the healing phase. That is the beauty of the band. It wouldn't surprise the least if this is what you experience. Good luck.
