I've been researching and I'm finding a discrepancy in grams of Protein per serving. The canisters say the same thing but when I compare the labels some have 6grams of protein and others have 25 grams per serving. Is some specially formulated for WLS patients? I was just trying to find the best price. What is the difference? Anyone know?

You're finding a discrepancy between the Syntrax nectar? I've tried all of the Syntrax Nectar flavors and I remember them all having about 23g of protein.

Check the serving size. I think my canisters list the serving size as 1/4 of a scoop with 6g protein...which means 24g for a whole scoop. I don't know why they do it that way...seems weird to me, since I always use a whole scoop & I assume most other folks do, too.

Im loving the Syntrax Nectar in the vanilla Bean Torte. Taste really matters to me so Ill sacrifice a couple of grams of Protein for the taste. 23 or 25, makes no difference to me because to me its still a good amount to get in one meal. I have a shake for Breakfast then I have the rest of the day to make up the rest of my protein grams. We are going on vacation next week and I just picked up a 12 pack of single servings of the Syntrax at Vitamin Shoppe. That way I dont have to worry about getting my morning protein :) Thinking ahead is the best thing for me.

You know what I'm such a ditz! Lol I just realized the difference. It's bc some bottles say 1/4 scoop. I just seen where it says a whole scoop for 23 grams.

Thanks! Lol I feel like such an idiot! When I went back and looked I noticed that. In my defense I'm on my iPhone and I didn't magnify the whole label at first. Ha ha.

Sorry about that. Lol.

Sorry about that. Lol.

No worries, I had forgotten about that. Like southernsoul, I use an entire scoop for 8oz of Water.

I'm an avid planner so that will be me too! I haven't even met with surgeon yet and I'm already researching all this stuff. I can't sit idle and wait. I have to look up stuff. Lol hopefully this will be a good thing and I will be successful after surgery.

Also, on the Syntrax website you can order a sample pack of flavors. It's 12 packs for $12, plus about $2 shipping. I love the vanilla bean torte & chocolate truffle, but wanted to play around with the fruit flavors before buying a big tub. I had to end up emailing them to get the sample pack, as the phone number went to voice mail, but that might have just been a hitch on that day.

Thanks! Someone else mentioned the sample pack as well. I'm defiantly going to order one of those before buying a big tub.

Look at the differences between serving sizes. 6 gms sounds like 1/4th of the packet of Syntrax which is a fourth of the serving.

No problem!

I wish I could give you all mine. I have the unflavored, Cookies, chocolate, and vanilla. Post-op I cannot do these. So I have 4 new ones (ran out the week before surgery) and I'm so ticked I just can't throw them away.

Edited: 4 newly opened ones

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
