jp143 1 Posted August 11, 2013 3 weeks out tomorrow, can eat tiny amounts, nothing tastes good, mouth tastes and feels gross and stomach is yuck. Does it ever get better after sleeve and can you ever eat good food again?
sherrypep 91 Posted August 11, 2013 I am three months out and like food just fine. It gets easier I promise. The first 6 weeks or so is the roughest. Now I can can eat just about anything in small portions. Hang in there. 1 Banned member reacted to this
teacher 36 Posted August 11, 2013 I was discussing this very subject with my husband this afternoon. I am 8 weeks post-op and I am rarely hungry. I basically eat because I know I am suppose to. When I do get excited about eating something or going out to eat, I get full so fast that eating is over before I start to enjoy it. But saying all of this, I am proud that the surgery is doing what it is suppose to do for me. I have been at a stall for about a month and want to see the scale move again but all in all I am happy with my decision. 1 TES reacted to this

donewithdieting 44 Posted August 11, 2013 Please remember you are in the "GOLDEN" time with WLS. Your tummy is probably still swollen. Make sure you get your liquids and Protein and you are good. Your food taste will come back, in the mean time you should be losing lots of fat, you can get to goal quicker by being on track. Its when people go off track and it takes awhile to get back. ( off track I'm meaning eating slider foods, drinking alcohol, eating white carbs ect.) Hope this makes sense. Good Luck Linda
Sassygirl06 962 Posted August 12, 2013 Yes. I am two years out and enjoy food and feel hunger. Still have the restriction to help me avoid overeating, but I do enjoy my old favorites.
Banned member 320 Posted August 13, 2013 I'm not sure when my taste became normal again but food does taste good as it always has. I become full quick and have great restriction at almost 1 yr post op.
