I feel the same way, really lucky. I had no problems. The weight is a bit slow coming off though. That's my only complaint.....

Same here - I was sleeved on the 5th of August - feeling no pain, no nausea - a little gassy and some heartburn if I drink too fast. A little tired and easily worn out when by the end of the day. I've been getting two Protein Shakes down a day. The weight has been dropping off - anywhere from 2-3 lbs per day!! It's ridiculous!

Sometimes in preparation for the worst we brace for a storm. When the storm passes by and doesn't whip our butts we are left with the braces.

Leave them up.

Save them for the stalls and lifelong maintenance.

I was sleeved on April 18th & other than a nearly full body rash a few days after surgery I didn't have any complications, haven't had any bad reactions to foods, nausea, vomiting, etc...knock on wood.

too easy????

i've had many operations - so the WLS itself, didn't concern/scare me

i wasn't too concerned about eating and drinking properly post op

things did go well with all (no sickness, vomitting, gas et al)

my concern from the beginning was always.........

"how the heck am I gonna be successful and not only lose the weight, but keep the weight off forever and a day

For me, once i reached goal 10 months ago - thats when the hard work starts...................

and my new wonderful life continues!!!!!

gotta keep following all those "sleeve rules" (Water, eating, portions et al)for the rest of my life - so i can keep my "girlish" ;) figure!!!!!

don't look for trouble!!!!

glad things are going so well for you :)

kathy

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
