cindymaried 145 Posted August 10, 2013 Has anyone had the stomach flu since being sleeved? My son either has that or food poisoning and we don't know which one. I am almost 2 weeks out and terrified of getting the stomach flu. My Dr specifically said do not throw up you could rupture your staple line. But what if I get sick like my son?? I am freaking out!!!!!
Will 61 Posted August 10, 2013 You should really call your surgeon.

Will 61 Posted August 10, 2013 Yeah, I'm just saying it's better to get a battle plan from a surgeon.
cindymaried 145 Posted August 10, 2013 My surgeon is really hard to reach anytime other than office hours. And his office hours leave a lot to be determined. If I start feeling I'll. I will try to call them. Thanks.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted August 10, 2013 If you keep stressing out about this, your immune system will get weaker and you will get the stomach flu. Drink a lot of Water if you can and if you start feeling a bit nauseous, go to your urgent care for something to take the nauseousness away.
ChristineR 128 Posted August 10, 2013 Oh I completely get what you are saying. This past season was the first time in 7 years I didn't get the stomach flu 1-3x because of my kiddos. They all had it only once this season (woo hoo!) but I seemed to dodge it. Nothing worse than mommas being sick trying to still take care of everything, especially if you just had surgery. So, I had thought about this too and I had a lot of my anti nausea medicine ready just in case. Doctor had prescribed tablets and suppositories just in case I needed anything at all. Most everything is still sitting in the same spot. You can't really do anything about it if you get it but let it run it's course. The less throwing up the better though. It's not really that season so hopefully that's not what he has but you never know. Be careful and I hope your son feels better! Wash sheets, wash hands, wear mask if you have too. But by now you are exposed so if you are going to get chances are you will. Hopefully, it's not a bug though and your worries will all go away soon PS. School starts Monday here so I'm already gearing up for the sickies. FUN FUN!
