nikkijane 13 Posted August 10, 2013 I started taking my bariatric Vitamins only a couple days ago. I haven't had any problems, until today. I feel like one of the calcium's is stuck in my esophagus. In fact, I've tried to eat twice and my food just felt like it was stacking up on it, and eventually came back up! I had never even thrown up! Grrr! It's a little painful, too. Has this ever happened to you? What did you do?

I'm trying to swallow a little warm Water at a time...this is a real fun ruiner! I will remember this about the vitamins!
gmanbat 5,889 Posted August 10, 2013 Do you still feel it? It should have dissolved by now. I always either get chewable calciums or just chew up the tablets. The tablets taste bad but I'm not picky about taste. i sometimes chew up a chewable multivitamin with it to drown out the taste. 1 Cheer Mama reacted to this

These are what my doctor gave me...a sample, I guess...and so I hadn't bought any. I'm going to get chewable a tomorrow. Seems like that would make a better sample for patients fresh out of surgery...
flyme_places 99 Posted August 10, 2013 I cut my pills in half to make them as small as possible. That was my major concern after surgery. But I also hate that stuck feeling. Happened to me after I ate the other night and it took 45 mins for the feeling to go away. Thank goodness I was at work and could walk it off. 1 nikkijane reacted to this

DOH! I don't know why it even took me so long to figure out it was my pill that was giving me so much grief! I love this group! I wish I had found it way before the day after my surgery! gmanbat 5,889 Posted August 10, 2013 Be sure to get calcium citrate, it is more absorbable.
AmyInOrlando 348 Posted August 10, 2013 My Doctor recommended the Gummy vites and gummy fish. You have to chew them very well, but they don't get stuck. I also found sublingual B12 and Biotin.< /p> 1 nikkijane reacted to this
nikkijane 13 Posted August 10, 2013 Be sure to get Calcium citrate' date=' it is more absorbable.[/quote'] Yes, that's what I have...I swear my dr said it needed to be 600 mg. in fact what he gave me has 600 mg. everything seems to be 500? And as of this morning, I'm still a little afraid to eat bc even when I drink, it seems to hang there a half a second. Think maybe my esophagus or something is irritated or mad at me? or at the very least a little swollen?

What brand of sublingual B 12 do you take? I bought some last Sat at the Vitamin Shoppe and they don't dissolve. I had it under my tongue for like 15 minutes before I finally chewed it. Aren't sublingual pills sposed to dissolve?
