How much liquid at once?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am 9 days out and in the liquids-only phase. I've had no problems at all, no pain, all good. I'm concerned that I can drink a lot in one sitting. I see that some people can't get down 4 oz, but I just consumed 9 oz of Premier Protein drink, had a small burp, and I'm fine. Does this sound like too much to you veterans out there? I can get in about 64 oz of Water a day too. Goes down no problem. I did have some blended chicken w/ stars Soup and could only get maybe 1/2 a cup in before I felt stuffed. Maybe I'm looking for problems where there are none, but I'd like your opinions.

Thank you in advance!

We are 7 days post op and have been getting in all our Protein and all our Water since day 5. I think we should celebrate! :) I can drink 6 oz in about 10-15 mins but only because I'm consciously slowing myself down.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
