OMG! What am I thinking!

Recommended Posts

I am setting here in Tijuana Mexico scared to death. What is wrong with me that I can't lose weight on my own?

This seems just crazy!

I cannot believe it has come to the point of me flying (my biggest fear in life) to another country and letting them cut my stomach out (needles are my 2nd fear).

Why can I not just do this on my own?

This is honestly the scariest thing I have ever done.

On the other hand everything has gone great so far. Our plane was early, our driver was there waiting, he pointed out sites in San Diego snd Tijuana, and the hotel is great.

The only thing I would change is I wish I had taken a later flight. I landed at 10am, got to the hotel around 11, but check in time wasn't until 3. They were able to get us in a room a little after 1 though.

Of course the worst part was the only thing to do during that time was to go to the restaurant. My daughter enjoyed it while I starved and 2nd guessed myself.

Anyways, does this feeling of wanting to run home go away?

Stay Calm. You've done your homework, the waiting is the worst part. I arrived the same day as my surgery but was the one one they did that day. I waited between the waiting room and my room for the night for 6 hours. It was so nerve racking, so I'm right there with you. Dont sweat the small stuff right. We chose this path because we have a food addiction. You'll do great. What time is your surgery tomorrow?

I'm 8 days post op and including the pre-diet I'm down 18 lbs.

My husband and I had a deal that if we got the hospital and met the doctor and anything didn't seem right, we were out of there.

Your going to do great. Sending you calming thoughts.

You being scared to death is something that happens to just about everyone who makes this life changing decision. you are on your way and things are going as you planned them....

think of why you are getting the surgery and what your goals are...Think of everything you have went through to get here.....

Is it all worth it.....You would not have gone this far if you were not sure!

Stay calm and let the fear ride through you.....It will pass once you are on your way....

All the best..See you on the losing side..... :)

Warning this is a "coach style" pep talk!

I need you to get in there and suck-it-up! You didn't come this far to turn around! Now give that sleeve HELL! (slap on the butt).

God bless you and you will be great.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
