I am six weeks post op. I am a teacher and have to be at school from before 7 am until 3 everyday. I am also on my feet 90% of that time. I have plenty of energy in the mornings but by the time I get home in the afternoon I feel like a dish rag. I am doing good if I get dinner cooked. I know that some of the problem is getting used to a new schedule and doing it with about 1/4 of he calories I used to take in. Any other suggestions? I am whooped......

I am six weeks post as well. I am a hairdresser so on my feet all day too!! I have to say that each week, I feel better and able to make it through the long day. I am told that getting ALL of your Protein and Water in is the key to getting your strength back and losing the weight.

You'll be in the same situation as me, I'm guessing. It's hard to have a water bottle in my hand at all times. :)

Hang in there! It's getting better every day!!!! :)

I'm 7weeks and have good and bad days. I Ana artist with my own biz, and I am busy all day, but around 4:00 I just kind of wither. I tend to go to bed at least an hour earlier than pre op.

I keep waiting on this big increase in energy that people talk about to happen, for me it hasn't happened yet. I walk 30 minutes almost every day and that feels like that is all I can do at this point.

My Nut put me on Vitamins and especially B12.< p>Talk your Nut and physician. Even now if I slack up off the Protein though I get slowed down too.

Good luck

Thanks... I am on Vitamins although I don't take them as I should- and I take a b12 shot every month. I think I should probably start tracking my intake...

Get tested for Vitamin D deficiency. A few years ago my doctor put me on 5,000 IUs of Vitamin D a day because I was deficient. And after about a week -- zowie! -- energy to spare! I call Vitamin D my "little capsule of sunshine."

Make sure you work with your doctor on Vitamin D. Too much can cause heart fibrillation. I started with 5,000 IU, had to cut back to 2,000 IU. Since my sleeve surgery, I am back to 5,000 IU. Just got my blood tests back and I am right in the middle of the Vit D range. And I feel great!

My mid day exhaustion was due to super low Iron levels. I was taking what I was supossed to but at 6 months was draggin by 2. My doc has incresed my iron supplements in an effort to avoid transfusions. This has helped a lot but looks like I may still end up getting more.

I ask 6 weeks post op and just within the last 2 weeks have a burst of energy that makes me not go to bed until about midnight and then I get up at 5..that's kinda frustrating but I do like the energy! I take a B12 lozenge in the morning with my Calcium and I haven't been taking my Multivitamin like I should because they make me throw up. I have recently ordered some Celebrate Vitamin so we well see how it goes.

You know, while you're at it, get all vitamin leves tested-- Iron, B12, potassium, sodium and a CBC. Also, thyroid.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
