3 months post surgery

Recommended Posts

It's been 3 months since my surgery and the experience thus far still amazes me. It must admit it was hard at first. You have to start thinking like a small person. Everything that you use to eat you can hang it up. I find myself looking at food that would have never been enough to fill me up and I am just overwhelmed. Like how did I eat all that before! More Water intake now than EVER. I feel great. My energy level is much better. My kids and their friends workout with me and it makes working out so much fun. In the beginning I was sick a lot couldn't eat was barely getting fluids in and I found myself wondering if I made the right decision. If it's hard for you now don't give up in time I does get better. I had a weight stall for about 2 and a half weeks but after that I started back losing weight. I am down 54lbs since surgery. Good luck sleevers. Just wanted to share.

You are right which is why I don't understand why the weights are not dropping like Water cos if I compare what I eat now to what I used eat? I just scream. I can barely finish a Protein Bar for lunch before I start getting a stomach ache. Even simple salad I can't finish. food is like a job to me now cos I can never finish anything even when I think that I am very very hungry. Leftover foods from my kids and hubby used to bother me a lot when they put it in the fridge and I always found a place to dump the leftovers-my stomach. Now, I'm the one with the leftovers cos I can never finish any food no matter how small and it amazes me. I love my sleeve. Thank you lord and thank you dr. Silva.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
