I had my gall bladder removed years ago, and I am not having surgery for a few weeks BUT I promise you if you are having issues, surgery is like heaven. I couldn't believe how much better I felt once that thing was gone! I suffered for years through attacks, when I finally ended up in the ER I was in "labor" with it for 6 hours before I got morphine on board to alleviate the pain, and as I told my surgeon I was in labor for 2.5 hours with my son, and brought home a baby and in labor for 6 hours with that thing and brought home nothing but a prescription for pain pills ;-)

What does a Gall bladder attack feel like? For the last 2 days I've been having sharp cramping pain constantly in my right upper back, side and now wrapping around to the front. It's bearable pain if I'm resting though. I think it's my gallbladder and want to ask my surgeon if he can take that along with my stomach

You just described it. When it first started I would take tylenol and just rock waiting for it to stop. I quickly realized I felt better if I made myself throw up (Not the best thing, but when you want to cut your insides out a little puke is worth it) At first it was just highly fatty foods that set it off, avocados, lots of cheese etc... In the end (before surgery) Water set it off. Mention it, I am sure they can ultrasound you and see if you have stones and just plan them both at the same time. I waited so long that when it finally was removed my gall bladder was not soft and pliable, it was hard and nearly gangrene, my surgery took nearly twice as long as it was supposed too, my surgeon said I had been sick a long time and that I had probably become so accustom to it that I had no idea.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
