Best greek yogurt? Any one's blood sugar ever dropped a little?

Recommended Posts

I was having greek yogurt with just a little bit of the fruit at the bottom. I didn't want all the extra carbs. I saw my NUT today and she said if I have one greek yogurt/day with the fruit that it's fine. Our calories are already so low that there's no way we aren't going to lose weight if we consume some carbs. She told me to aim for no more than 50-60g of carbs/day in the beginning.

Yogurt is tricky because some are super high in carbs/sugar. The Danon light and fit greek has 9 g of carbs and 7 g of sugar which is why I bought it in the first place LOL. I haven't tried the Fage but I'll definitely check it out! I love new food ideas!

Edit: I'm 4 months out and I can consume 90-120 g a day of carbs (max) but I usually stay in the 50-70 range.

I do the Chobani plain with a little bit of liquid stevia mixed in. The Fage is good too.

My fav is Fage 0 plain. I add Splenda and berries. My current fav is blueberries.

A tip on the Fage yogurt that comes with the side of fruit...just let the fruit lie on the top - don't stir it in...I think it tastes better that way (stirring changes the consistency or something)...and it suggests it on the side of the carton, as well, so I guess I am not the only one that thinks this :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
