Do you attend any of the support groups?...my mom who is also going through the process has the same nut and surgeon as you <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />...how are things going for u so far?

I went to the required pre-op meetings but I haven't gone to any post op! It's tough with my work schedule. That's awesome! Does she have a date?

I agree I've only been to one since surgery. ...not yet she was cleared but I think she is waiting on insurance.

I'm from Springfield ma. Had the lap band done in 2007 and it slipped and there's a leak so now I'm getting the sleeve. I had doctor Romanelli and Cheryl as well. But now I'm going to mercy hospital, they have a more personalized program. How much weight have you lost? I'm due to have my surgery in October or November.

Since I started the program I've lost pounds. My weightless is just picking up now as I hit the 3 week stall. But I've lost 20 lbs since surgery! I thought about the band but was worried about a slip or other complications. Plus I didn't like the idea of getting stuck with needles to get it filled. I feel like a human pin cushion enough as it is! How much weight have you lost with the lap and before the complications? Good luck with your surgery!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
