Wow for the past two days it seems I can't stop eating. I don't seem to feel full at all until later at nite. Has anyone else ever have this happen? I am 7months out. Most other days I really don't care if I eat but I do to make sure I get something in me.

I get days like that - usually around the time of the month... just try to fill up on the lower calorie/low carb options - depending on your way of eating

don't know if you are at goal or close

but............its not easy, but try not to give into those hunger pangs

remember - this eating, drinking stuff is for the rest of your life!!!!

i'm sure you will get things under control

good luck

What's changed in your life recently? Any new stressors? Are you still getting your required Water and Protein in each day? I'm only 2 months post-op, but I'd recommend going back to basics to make sure you're doing what's required - you may find that an increase in water/protein may help with the hunger!

As the above poster said its likely to do with time of month and your cycle. Track what you are eating and if its below 1,200 calories then its fine!! Its good to have "off" or "treat" days sporadically to tell your body that you're not starving it! Also another suggestion - go for a walk or do some form of exercise, often gets mind off eating and supresses appetite for a while :)

Thanks everyone for your input. I think it may be stress at my job cause that's where it seems to happen. Can't be time of the month cause I don't have them anymore. Sometimes I think I'm eating way too much but when I look at my cal input it's not that high. Just paranoid I guess. I will get back to basics and try to up my Water and protien cause I think I'm slacking a bit.

Thanks again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
