Dr. Huacuz in Mexico?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if anyone has been banded in Mexico with Dr. Huacuz? I received several emails from his office explaining package prices with/without airfare and it sounds to me to be a great deal. I was originally going to go with Dr. Ortiz, but they both sound wonderful with care and all. :tired

Thanks,

Judy

Where is his clinic located? I had mine done in Monterrey, I wonder if it is close to him. I chose a hospital though, I was afraid of something happening and I didn't want to be in just a clinic when it happened. Even though nothing happened =)

He is about 10 minutes from the border going into Tijuana. He has got a nice practice and his team is great as I mentioned before. You can also check huacuz.com. I believe that's his website. If not send me a message and I will send the info. good luck!

Hi Judy,

I am scheduled to get banded by Dr. Haucuz on the 6th of February and can't wait! Just took my "before" pics and want to reschudule for tomorrow!! :omg: I have done a lot of research and after having been denied by insurance 2 times now I have given up. Not worth the brain freeze. Keep me posted and I'll do the same for you!

I am curious to know how much it actually does cost in Mexico?

Hi Champagne Sally,

With 2 nights of hospital stay and all the pre-op tests and an Inamed band I am paying $7,000 with Dr. Haucuz. I am totally excited and raring to go!

Megret :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

That is really good. It is double that in Canada and I have a friend who wants to do it, but doesn't have all the funds. So I am going to tell her to look into Mexico...

Thanks and good luck!

Sally

I was banded by Dr. Huacuz on 8/30/2005 and I don't have one bad thing to say about him. He was absolutely wonderful! I trusted him the moment I met him, he made me feel instantly at ease. I would 100% recommend him to anybody.

Now, that being said......make sure you have local aftercare, this is very very important. I underestimated the importance of that big time. My local aftercare is over 4 hours away, making it very difficult for me to make the trip to get necessary adjustments, therefore, I haven't lost any weight. There are other factors as well, but that is the main one. So be sure to have aftercare lined up!!!

Dr. Huacuz is THE BEST!!!

He did my band on 4/15/05, I lost great until my band slipped, and he won't contact me, so maybe more research would be better

Dear rere50, You may want to try to email Dr. Huacuz on his contact tab at his web site or go thru info@huacuz.com It always works for me when I set up visits. The best of luck CJay

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
