krissy1189 1 Posted August 7, 2013 Hello everyone, so I was told for my insurance bs of ca they require a food Journal does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this? What should it say? Does it have to be detailed to how much I ate in grams or or portion size? Did anyone else have to do this? Please help thanks :-) 1 sastexan4u@yahoo.com reacted to this
NotLookinBack 164 Posted August 7, 2013 I had to keep a food journal for a couple of weeks.. And they wanted as much information as possible. What food, how it was cooked, time, how much Water I drank and when. They wanted the whole nine yards 1 sastexan4u@yahoo.com reacted to this

JoiaRox 430 Posted August 7, 2013 Ditto to MyFitnessPal - best food diary I've found on the web! I love being able to scan bar codes of things I'm eating, then having their nutritional content just magically appear! It's also great for reports of various things - weight lost, inches lost, macronutrients consumed, Water intake, etc.

zenandnow 514 Posted August 7, 2013 Ok HOLD THE PHONE. You can scan bar codes???? Is there another app for that? Lol. I have an iPhone. How do I do this? It's right in the MFP app on the iPhone. When you go to add a food there's a barcode icon next to the search field. Click it an then hold up to the bar code & it snaps a pic with all the info. SleevedJune62013 167 Posted August 7, 2013 OMG! I'm like a kid with a new toy! THANK YOU!
JoiaRox 430 Posted August 7, 2013 Seriously - MyFitnessPal has it ALL. Add that to the fact that it syncs with the FitBit One that I wear (and compensates for extra, earned calories from excess activity...which I don't usually eat back)...it really is the perfect website/app! 1 SleevedJune62013 reacted to this
SuzyB 182 Posted August 7, 2013 I also ditto the my fitness pal. It really helps me see where I am in a given day as to how much I have eaten. I like the quick add as my Breakfast tends to be the same thing day in day out.
krissy1189 1 Posted August 7, 2013 Wow.. thanks everyone for the app tip. I already downloaded it. Now if I'm using the app as a food journal how can I get that info to print out so it can be sent with my paperwork to get approved?
JoiaRox 430 Posted August 7, 2013 Log onto the program on the internet (www.myfitnesspal.com) and check out the "reports" section. Utilizing the program online will allow you to get a better idea of what's available to you!
Mocha2871 182 Posted August 8, 2013 Ok HOLD THE PHONE. You can scan bar codes???? Is there another app for that? Lol. I have an iPhone. How do I do this? There is a app that I found its called Lose It and you are able to scan bar codes with it. I love it because you can see your Protein intake. 1 SleevedJune62013 reacted to this
