Cmt7831 186 Posted August 7, 2013 I am 2 weeks post op and I have this pain under my left breast where the largest incision is that is beyond frustrating. I was at Kohls yesterday and could hardly stand it hurt so bad. Every time I tried to tk a deep breath it would hurt! I can't walk yet because this is what happens! Anyone else experience this? And how long till it went away? My doctor says its normal because the is where he took the stomach out of and those muscles need time to heal !
ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted August 7, 2013 pain under my left breast where the largest incision is Cmt7831 one thing "we" all have in common, is that we're all different i was lucky not to have any problems/pain during recovery we all heal at our own rate i'm sorry you are having pain issues good you checked with your doc and he basically said not to worry but - if it persists, i would keep in touch with the doc - maybe some pain medicine would help saying this as nicely as i can what the heck are you doing walking around at Kohl's et al?? listen to your body always - it will guide you since you are feeling poorly - please stay at home rest, rest, rest - don't go looking for sales yet soon enough you'll be buying those smaller sized clothes i hope other things are going ok??? drinking et al?? take care feel better soon good luck kathy
AmyInOrlando 348 Posted August 7, 2013 I'm 6 days out and my road to recovery has been anything but smooth. I'm hitting every bump or should I say pot hole.... Unfortunately, I was one of those that had to have a hiatal hernia repair before my gastrectomy could be completed. I'm miserable. The chest discomfort and shortness of breath are really wearing me out. I don't feel worse since returning home, but I don't feel any better either. I would have thought that at day 6 I'd be gaining some strength and endurance, but I still feel weak and miserable.

JoiaRox 430 Posted August 7, 2013 As has been said, everyone heals differently and at their own pace. Continue to listen to your body, rest when needed, drink fluids, get Protein, etc. - your time for pain free enjoyment of the sleeve will come!

I felt fine and my doctor wants me walking 30 mins a day so I thought do it shopping with her. It just hits me so fast and sucks. I still have pain killers left from after surgery so I took some when I got home.
NTL44 43 Posted August 7, 2013 Are you having pain when you take a deep breath? Cause I am too. I was sleeved 8 days ago. On my left side everytime I take a deep breath my shoulder hurts and sometimes my back and under my rib cage. I called my surgeon earlier cause I thought oh dear left side shoulder pain do I have a leak? But he thinks I'm fine because i do not have a fever and I'm eating alright. But doesn't it stink being in pain and having no idea what could be wrong with you. Hang in there I hope you feel better and everything is alright!
