I work for Google as a Writer/Editor. Currently working on Google's new version of maps where you can see which restaurants & attractions are around you to choose where to go! :)

Stace, could you do humanity a favour? Could you please use your formidable skills, in line with the project you're already undertaking, to develop an 'idiot detector', too? A geo-locating tool that allows you to see the idiots around you and remove yourself from their presence accordingly! I dunno, you could base it on the types of Cookies stored on their computer/smart phone after using Google as their search engine. In a 1984 Orwellian fashion, if individuals have a certain pattern of surfing behaviour, you could give them a social ranking. Anything around the 1-3 is green and 'normal'. 4-6 is amber, with evidence of weirdness present. 7-9, okay, these dudes are starting to get a bit freaky. 10, they're in a league of their own - run for the hills! I know I'd pay a fair amount of money for a service like that! How COOL would that be - particularly if you're in the dating game?! You got skills, girl, get on it! :D

HAHAHA! I love it! Sadly, I am one of the few non-tech people at Google...heavily invested in the love of the written word, something that has gone the way of the dodo for most of the same people you want to detect! LOL! Gives Amber Alert a whole new meaning. I'd pay for that service too!

I am an attorney (or as my brother would say a liar-awyer) working for good ol' Uncle Sam, the United Stated Federal Government in the northern Mississippi/Memphis area. I'm a mere nine days away from beginning my sleeved life. I'm impressed by the diversity of professions represented on this topic, but there seem to be a whole lot of nurses.

I believe like another poster said its because its our nature to be caregivers to everyone else before ourselves. We think of ourselves last or not at all. We work long hours with few breaks. Night shifters have those terrible sleep patterns which all by its self adds to the risk of obesity. It's said to say but there are a lot of unhealthy nurses out there!!!!!

My hero! I rely on gmaps heavily

Me too! I've lived in the county I work in my entire life and know where pretty much everything is, but using it saves me time in the office by setting up an efficient itinerary and by finding the most efficient routes between inspection sites during the day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
