jenniferh 0 Posted August 3, 2004 I am 7 days post op, on full liquids. I am feeling much better, but have this heavy pain between my breasts that travels up my esophagus. Not really heartburn, but is relieved by burping. Any advice?
Janie Jackson 0 Posted August 3, 2004 That is how my gallbladder acted up! A tight feeling between my breasts and relief with burping. I had to get completly off carbonated drinks and off spicy foods. I know you arent eating now. My attacks were before my banding. Also I got a nervous feeling. Hope you are feeling better...Janie
New Hope 37 Posted August 3, 2004 Are you still on liquids? If you're eating, are you lying down soon afterwards? This could be causing reflux of the esophagus. You might try having someone elevate your headboard on blocks (or cut boards). sleeping on stacked pillows doesn't help, just bends your esophagus. Good luck! leatha_g 4 Posted August 3, 2004 Sounds to me like post-op gas from surgery. They pump your abdomen full of gas so they can see while they're inside. That gas rises up toward the diaphragm and can be felt up into the shoulders. It takes quite awhile sometimes for it to completely go away. Are you walking? Walking is really the thing that helps it the best. I hope this is all it is. Good luck!
