DallasSleeve 30 Posted August 6, 2013 I'm 9 weeks out- I'm wondering how many of you pre-cut your food into tiny pieces (and how tiny) or if you just take small bites? I feel like when I cut up my food, it gets cold too fast/kind of dries out and becomes un-appetizing. I am still eating less than an ounce at a time so of course I'm still struggling with my Protein goals! When were you able to just bite into food?
BlessedBeyondMeasure2012 296 Posted August 7, 2013 I usually cut mine as I go. I don't cut it all up at once for the reasons you listed above. I can just bite into things but I find when I do my bites are usually bigger than I intend for them to be and then I eat too fast. I probably cut my bites about half the size I did before I had surgery.
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted August 7, 2013 I've been using kitchen shears! I cut my food into dime sized bits and eat with a cocktail fork. I suck at biting into things. My bites are far too big still.
DallasSleeve 30 Posted August 7, 2013 Maybe my bites are too small? I'm cutting them into mini-M&M size...and then my plate looks so full and I just feel like I'll never eat all of it! I'm going to try cutting my bites a little bigger and see if I can get more Protein in. Thanks!
mmgraham102602 10 Posted August 7, 2013 I think this is my problem. I think I may cut mutt bits too big.
DallasSleeve 30 Posted August 8, 2013 I cut the bites of my meatball in dime-sized pieces and was able to eat the whole meatball (minus one tiny piece). Tuesday, I could only eat 1/2 of one, so maybe the slightly bigger bites work for me.
