Thank you! I know what you mean about the pre-surgery jitters. I didn't sleep a wink the night before. It will be over before you know it. You'll do great!

It's been 5 months since going under the knife. Best.Decision.Ever.

Your rate of loss is fantastic. We are about the same height and BMI starting out so I was wondering what your average daily diet looks like.

Hi christieouchley - My daily diet is focused solely on getting 60+ grams of Protein in a day. I don't count the carbs, fat or anything else. A typical day will start with a Premier Protein shake from costco. Then around 10am I'll eat some pork or turkey Jerky or maybe I'll have a hard boiled egg. I usually eat lunch around noon and have whatever seems good from the cafeteria. Around 3pm I'll have a Protein Bar. For dinner, I'll have whatever leftovers I can find in the fridge. Then at 8pm, I'll have a popsicle or some kind of fruit. I feel like I'm eating all the ding-dong-day. Does that help? I'm not very good about tracking what goes into my mouth. I just eat whatever until my sleeve tells me it is enough. But, I do try to make healthy choices and I ensure I get that protein in!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
