how do I lower my CO2 level?

Recommended Posts

I recently quit smoking and wanted to find out what excercises or things did you guys do to lower your CO2 levels? I know they have like a breathing thingie, but don't know what it is called to be able to purchase one. Can anyone helo?

But the test you do to assess your smoking is pretty sophisticated. If you have recently been smoking, this equipment won't mask the fact. Best of luck. Smoking is HARD to quit and prepping for the sleeve is HARD too!!!

My question is, how do you know what your levels are and if you even need to bring them down? Just because you were a smoker, doesn't necessarily mean that you need to do anything special to bring levels down. My mom was a heavy smoker (4 packs a day) many, many years ago. She quit and did not have any problems with CO2.

There are tests that can be done, either blood work or breathing tests, which will show what your CO2 levels are.

Hmmm I did this homework before. If you are breathing into a device its 72 hours smoke free i think to get normal numbers, add 24 hours for safe measure. However my surgeon checked thru bloodwork which is a different entity all together, its at least a month smoke free, I used electronic logic cigarettes, of all the brands I have tried I found those to be the best. Good luck.

a serious commitment to good strong cardio workouts to increase your aerobic capacity will significantly increase your body's ability to process CO2 but it would take workouts 5 times a week for a month or more to make a noticeable difference. however the exercise is good for you anyways.

A Peak Flow Meter will both measure and improve your airflow. It's typically used by Asthmatics & emphasema patients. Not sure if this exactly what you are looking fit.
