And if you can't join 'em - beat 'em at their own game!! Go to the World According to Eggface, and make her Protein Doughnuts, complete with "icing" and "sprinkles" Her pictures are impressive, they look like the real deal and she claims they taste like it too ;)

Today was better. Although there were donuts....damn coworkers!

Glad your day was better.

You know, I feel more than a few twinges of guilt sending my homemade goodies into the office with my husband. Now, in fairness, more than half of them are military and so very active and regularly working out. But yeah...the other day my son wanted cinnamon rolls, so I made a pan the night before to bake in the morning. I set aside one for each family member in the house and sent the remainder in to work with him. So I'm probably contributing to office weight gain for all of his coworkers. I usually bake once a week for them (in the Embassy it was "Cookie Wednesday") so when I don't bake, people ask my husband if I'm doing okay because they think I'm sick.

I mean, on the one hand, I do not expect anyone to eat more than one cookie or once in a while a big treat like a cinnamon roll. But then again, I know that in my fat days I'd have parked my can right by the baked goods and had myself a feast.

I should probably stop. But I really, really enjoy baking. And I don't want it all in the house because it goes to waste - we simply don't eat that much. So, for now, at least, his coworkers have to battle temptation on a weekly basis, and it's all my fault.

Now I feel terrible.

Could you bake for a local shelter or other charity?

LOL.....yep, thats always my plan as well. Why let baked goodies just sit there? They aren't getting any better with age. And they aren't going to eat themselves.

Mmmm, I had half a chocolate chip cookie from Subway today. It was good, and I deserved it after the emergency room visit.

Yesturday my client was boiling some eggs and forgot about them. I swear it smelt like toast to me.... :( It smelt pretty good too....I wasn't even stressed that I recall. I do know that when I smell something cooking, I still want to eat even when I'm not hungry...When I am stressed, look out, because I will try an eat the kitchen, if at a restaurant and I'm really hungry, I will still order the biggest meal and can only take a couple of bites...... :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
