First day back at work and feel like I never had surgery. I'm feeling great. Actually feel hungry for the first time in two weeks. I guess cause I'm up and moving around. We will see how I feel tonight. I've been REALLY thirsty al day. Good way to get my Water in.

So far so good. Unfortunately I went back to my old eating habits (inhaling my food) but after a couple bites I remembered to eat slowly. I was sleeved on 7/19. On the good side since all I do is talk all day it makes me drink lots more Water. How was your first day back???

A lot of people were off so it was nice & quiet. My boss is in vacation until the 19th & my coworker until the 12th. Other people in the group welcomed me back & said I was glowing. I can't post a pic

All my coworkers were just surprised I was back a work. I never knew how many questions people could have about the surgery. The ones I hadn't told were surprised that I had already done it. But all are supportive and they all tell me the same thing "listen to the doctor!".

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
