Well done on your loss and maintenance. I remember your posts when I was pre-op and they were always so sensible and I really liked your attitude to goal weight. I personally have decided on a total wight loss of 100lb which would still leave me in the overweight category but I hope it will be a weight I can maintain and look and feel good at.

Wow' date=' time flies! I am 2 years post op... My story: I started in the 260's..... made my very modest weight loss goal (170lbs) in 9 months and have been maintaining fairly easily since, (a few ups and downs!) At one point I was up 7-8 pounds but I am currently holding within 2 pounds of my low weight. I was eating sliders for sure, I caught myself and got back on track with normal eating. I still have hunger, I only lost it for about 4 months. I still have fair restriction, but sliders are almost as easy to eat as before. I eat anywhere between 1500-2000 calories a day to maintain. I don't eat low carb, but I try to fuel my body healthily. Don't get me wrong, I still eat cheezits and cookie dough for dinner sometimes! I drink 2-3 beers per week, and drink sparkling Water everyday, no troubles with carbonation. I bike or slowly jog/ walk a few days a week. Nothing crazy. I have a fairly active job as a RN. I have ZERO loose skin BUT I am 170 pounds, so if i wanted to see 130 pounds I might run into that problem. I wear as size 12 and mediums and some larges. (pre-op I was 2x and 24 easy) I would like to maintain my weight for another year then try to lose 10 more pounds. I am super happy, best decision I have ever made to get the sleeve. I am 30 years old and weigh less today then I did when I was 12 years old!

I am very grateful for this website, I have been on nearly everyday for the past 2 1/2 years, and I will keep coming back to help keep me in track![/quote']

LOVE this post. You look beautiful!! I'm getting sleeved on the 26th and this is very motivational and encouraging!!!

Thanks for the update! It helps us to know that it is possible to maintain without too much struggle. I don't have a goal weight yet. Just going to see how it goes. I have lost 67 and am 67 more from normal BMI. But I am 5-10 so may shoot for about 15 more than that. Who knows. Even a 29.9 BMI may be best I can hope for (32 more lbs). Thanks for sharing your experience.

You look so happy and that is the point isn't it? I would love to be 170. I don't ever think I could imagine myself at 130-140. Congratulations!!!!

As someone who was sleeved 1 week ago, this is very inspiring! Thank you!

I remember several months ago when I was contemplating surgery. I came across your post you had posted at 1 year. It 'stuck' with me because, at that time, it was one of the first success stories I had read ( for 1+ years).

You've done amazing and look fabulous. I love your outlook and attitude.

Continue to "rock your sleeve" and enjoy your happiness.

N what about d portion of food u tolerate

I have completed an ear n think can eat more then before

My portions vary, but typically for a meal:

1 cup of raisin bran with 3/4 cup of milk

1 large slice of toast with Peanut Butter and a half a banana cut on top.

4oz chicken breast

1 medium slice of pizza

1 6 inch sub way minus half the bread

1 easy mac cup (eeek!)

2 eggs with 1/2 an english muffin

almost an entire small fast food burger.

just examples!!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
