You look great!

I am sorta discouraged now. I started at 264 and I want to to be 130.

I am 186 now and a size 12 and med-large tops and that's not good enough for me. I carb rotate and shock my body and fast and do all the things your supposed to keep the weight coming off but not to be 130 might be so discouraging!

I am so happy you look great and are happy where you are!

You're only 6 months out, I think you are doing fantastic. No reason to give up or be discouraged, it will just go slower now.

OP: You look great! Congratulations. Its always cool to read the long term results.

This is a great post! Thank you for sharing your story. I'm only two weeks out and my goal weight is 160-170 lbs. I have been between 130-144 lbs in the past and I don't look good that skinny! I love how I look in the 160-180 range. Your post gave me encouragement as I'm trying to figure what the future will be like. It's good to know that I will be able to increase my calorie count and eat (very little) some Desserts and treats. Right now, I'm just focusing on getting as much weight off as possible because I know that we experience the most loss early on in our sleeve journeys. I hope you continue to enjoy your life and congratulations!!

Sleeve, this was the perfect post for me to read today. I have been having an internal discussion about 'goal' for me lately. I feel great where I am, and would just like to tone up a bit more in the ab area. Prior to surgery I was thinking 130 lbs, but then changed that goal to 140 as at my age & stage I thought it would be more realistic.

I'm with you as far as wanting to be happy with eating this new normal way - not feeling like I'm constantly dieting or battling with food. Thank you for your honest, down to earth and personal insight.

Much appreciated.

you're welcome!! Reality is: being on a "diet" sucks. Being healthy and normal is possible! I have pretty much weighed the exact same for 11 months with this philosophy. I will not go back to my old ways and gain weight but I am enjoying life and don't have to worry about staying under 1200 calories to weigh 130lbs.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
