chapstick!

very baggy underwear

baggy dress or

very baggy very soft pants and oversized top

flip flops

patience :0)

When I left the hospital I was VERY swollen. My underwear was way to tight and it was comfy before I went in. I wish I had had a dress even though I HATE dresses. Chapstick because your lips WILL be dry.

really, nuthin else. Wear the clothes in and out. It will be very hard in the beginning, but it is well worth it.

Good LUCK!

Christy,

I was only in for a little over 24 hours. I wore my loose jeans (loose from pre op diet), I took a back pack with my toothbrush, deodorant, make-up bag and extra pair of panties to wear home. I wore the same clothes home that I wore to the hospital. Keep it simple and good luck. I had no swelling.

I wear the same outfit to go home,

Deodorant

Phone and charger

sugar free halls for your dry mouth and bad taste.

The hospital gave me a nice box with everything that you will need.(Toothpaste, toothbrush and etc)

I was there for two days. So I had already taken an extra pair of panties (just in case. And (tmi alert) if you fart something other then air might come out). The hospital does give you stuff but I don't know if you are like me but I like my own soap and stuff to take a shower. And let me tell you that shower was the best shower in the world. Don't know if you watch The Walking Dead but I was like those guys when they took their first shower in forever. Chapstick is a must. (I had 3). I wore a light t shirt and stretchy yoga pants going in but then changed into one of my over sized sleep shirts. Wore that home.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
