High BMI Tennis in Progress

Recommended Posts

I got my fat butt out on the tennis court today after many years. Still pre-op but trying to increase my physical activity as part of a lifestyle change. Lost 6 pounds so far on my nut diet and trying to change my sedentary ways.

I used to be pretty good and I think my wife was surprised that i was able to play as well as I did being so overweight. I'm looking forward to playing again and my game improving post op when I start shedding the pounds.

good for you, becoming more active prior to surgery :)

you sound so "gun ho"!!! ;)

if you want to continue to prepare yourself for WLS, maybe you could try a couple of the below

stop drinking about 15-30 minutes before you eat

stop drinking Water while you eat

do not drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat

drink at least 64 oz a day

cut your food into bite sized pieces

chew thoroughly

put utensil down in between bites

eat very sllllllowly

you could start measuring your food

these are just a few examples that you must follow post-op

you have a great attitude :)

i see your healthier, happier, longer life in your near future :)

you will do great!!!! :)

take care

good luck

I am also looking at starting up tennis again. It was great exercise in the days before my fat escalation. Memory reminds me of ankle and knee problems during those days, no doubt due to my inordinate competitiveness. I suggest you take it easy, I know I will.

Thanks Kathy ...

I do need to start practicing all those post op things. I'm going to have a hard time not drinking while eating as I'm used to chugging lots of Water while I eat. But I'll deal with it.
