Im going to visit my family for my 11 year old sisters birthday party. I want to tell my family then that im pregnant.

I was going to give my parents a card with a sonogram it and then the rest of the family will know. But they will be suspicious on why im giving them a card too on my sisters bday.

So I was thinking after I give my sister her gifts...I was then going to plan on saying "wait one more card"and have her open the card and its a aunt card and have her read it. But was wondering whats ur guy's ideas are. I would have a card for my parents as well. I just want the best way to tell them and the most creative. This is going to be there 1st grand child. Ideas!!!! Thanks

I like the idea of giving the card to your parents..

You can wait until your sister opens all of hers then say something to the effect of having one more card but to your parents because they deserve recognition for being great parents???

You could give her an Auntie cup as one of her birthday presents. Then share the sonogram with your folks and whoever. Love Laura's idea too if you want to tell your parents first.

A lot of people Celebrate the mother of the birthday child - after all, it was quite a day for her, too! You can give a card to your mother, framing it with "and because this day is a celebration of your hard work, too, I have a card for you!"

I think it's great that your far enough along to share the news but I don't think I would do it at your sisters party. Let her enjoy her day. Once you announce the pregnancy all the attention will shift to you. You will have 31 more weeks to spill the Beans, however this party is in celebration of her and I think it's important that she is the sole focus of the day.

You could give them pink and blue carnations or bags with pink and blue m&m's in them when you give them the cards.

I like the idea of giving your sister an aunts card and the sonogram. While she's opening the card, hand one to your parents. If she's confused, ask your parents to open their card too. So exciting to share your big news! Congrats to you and happy birthday to your sister!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
