Warning gross poo question

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on 7/30 and everything has been going good. Pain is alright, so I'm weening myself off of the pain meds starting this afternoon. I've been walking a lot, at least 3 miles outside because it actually helps with the pain (throughout the day). I'm on Clear liquids for 1 week, with a minimum goal of 48 oz that I have been reaching...

All that being said, 8/1 I started to have BMs again. However they have been... Well complete liquid. It was manageable until about 10 last night I started having to run to the bathroom (OUCH!). My stomach area sounds like Jurassic Park and its getting more frequent. I do not have a fever and I do not have stomach pains with it.

My 1 week follow up is Monday, but is there anything I can do I the mean time???? I'm seriously desperate to quiet to dinosaurs in my tummy and make my trips to the bathroom less frequent.

Thank you in advance!!!!!!!!!

So normal. My kids loved my belly noises, my dog, not so much. She actually barked at my tummy. It goes away after a few weeks.

Water poo is also the norm. I am 11 weeks out and still have watery explosions. My best words of advice? Never trust a fart.

Yep - I had this as well. Not fun but I just thought about it as totally cleaning out all the gunk in my system. I'm 10 weeks out and have liquidy bm's about half the time. I'm just glad that I continue to have bm's at least once a day (for the most part). The alternative seems worse to me. Good luck -- each day gets better I promise!!! :-)

Totally normal... i had a few accidents the first couple weeks... and I agree NEVER trust a fart! I am almost 7 months out now and deal with weekly Constipation issues. I have to stay away from cheese and anything else that can make me stop up... otherwise its no bueno for 3 or 4 days.

I am going on 4 weeks post op and even though my diet now includes "mechanical, mushy" items, mine are still liquid. Doctor told me to take one Imodium a day and that at least keeps it down to once per day. So sadly, I have it timed to have my liquid BM in the morning, take my Imodium and that's usually it for the day. The "percolating tummy" sounds have finally stopped thank goodness! Talk about noisy!!

Well at least I know its normal! Thanks for sharing!

If you have any advice that will make it less frequent I'm all ears. It woke me up every hr -45 mins last night to run to the bathroom... I'll try taking Imodium once a day until I see my doctor on Monday for the 1 week.

Now to focus on the positive reasons I had the surgery like not eventually getting diabetics, feeling comfy in a wedding dress, riding amusement park rides, and feeling good about myself

I've heard that chewing benefiber tablets helps some people, so maybe worth a try? Just be sure to drink enough with it.

Lol!! I've heard this before, but its something that you can't ever hear enough :-D

I assume that means all white pants/shorts should just go into the donation pile immediately after surgery. ;-)

Oh no...something to look forward to...lol. :-/. I have issues with this off and on since my gallbladder came out. I take Fiber tablets to get it under control. I am adding this to my list of questions to ask my surgeon for when I see him again.

I had surgery on 7/30 and every time a nurse would check on me she would ask, have you farted yet. I was so embarrassed I kept saying I don't think so and they'd reply oh you'll know. Lol.

When I finally did, it was so loud and then my whole stomach started making noises. I felt like one of those old fashioned crank start engines. Ugh. And agreed- no truer advice has been spoken. Do not trust them! Lol

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
